“If something is true, it is good and beautiful; if it is beautiful; it is good and true; if it is good, it is true and it is beautiful. And together, these elements enable us to grow and help us to love life, even when we are not well, even in the midst of many problems. True education enables us to love life and opens us to the fullness of life.”

Our Mission
With an original foundation in 1795, St. Patrick’s, Maynooth is, since 1896, a Pontifical University, dedicated to the disciplines of philosophy and theology.
Drawing on its Catholic tradition, St Patrick's Pontifical University is committed to the highest level in teaching and learning, research, and publication. As an institution it promotes the intellectual, human, and professional development of its students within an environment that respects autonomy and diversity.
The Faculties of Theology and Philosophy further, strives to communicate, to conserve, and to innovate from within the Christian theological and philosophical traditions and so contribute creatively to the wider church, society, and culture.
If you live outside Ireland, check out our dedicated area for international students.
