Module Aims
This module explores the interplay between reason, faith, and revelation in the context of Christian theology and spirituality. It delves into fundamental questions surrounding the relationship between human cognition, belief systems, and divine or sacred revelations. Drawing from both Classical and contemporary perspectives, this module provides learners with an understanding of these complex and often divergent aspects of human thought and belief. Learners will be introduced to the foundational sources and the hermeneutical method of Christian Theology, particularly the notions of divine revelation, Scripture, faith, and tradition. Learners will engage with questions about the relation between revelation and reason, tradition and Scripture, philosophy and theology, faith and knowledge.
