Module Aims
The aim of this module is two-fold: to introduce the learner to organ repertoire from the European liturgical tradition and to the art of liturgical accompaniment.
Indicative Syllabus
Provided on a weekly basis by the lecturer and customised to the level/development of the student
Learning Outcomes
- — LO1: Adapt their playing style to a range of pipe organs.
- — LO2: Present two contrasting pieces of moderate difficulty from the solo repertoire
- — LO3: Demonstrate a secure organ technique, on both manuals and pedals.
- — LO4: Understand basic conventions regarding organ registration and selection of tone colours.
- — LO5: Present a moderately-difficult liturgical accompaniment with musical sensitivity and security
- — LO6: Draw on reliable techniques which help combat performance nerves
