Module Aims

In this module we will consider key themes in metaphysics, epistemology, and ethics as they appeared in ancient and medieval thought. Thinkers foremost in our consideration are Plato, Aristotle, and Aquinas, but we will not overlook other thinkers of these periods who have contributed to these areas of thought. Some of the themes explored will be the problem of the one and the many, the relationship of mind and world, and whether the good life consists in good character or good action.
