Module Aims

This module is a philosophical consideration of the nature of physical reality. As such it is concerned with what has traditionally been called philosophy of nature. It will cover natural science and how philosophy relates to it; how a philosophical investigation of physical reality is possible; and how developments in the philosophy of nature helped to bring about the scientific revolution and why the eclipse of that revolution in contemporary science calls for a different philosophy of nature that is more Aristotelian in outlook.
