Module Aims
To introduce students to the basics of reading OT texts. To offer an orientation in key theological themes from OT (Creation, Torah, Exodus, Kingship, Prophecy). To introduce students to a basic form of Lection Cursiva Exegetica. To give students an orientation in basic language of Moral Theology (Conscience, Justice, Truth, Discernment, Happiness).
Indicative Syllabus
The module is delivered in the form of lectures, but this is augmented by required readings, discussions, and feedback; all of which is reflected in the material covered in the module. The topics covered in the module feed into a reading of the Biblical text from the perspective of Christian morality, focused around the question “What must I do?”
