We at SPPU express our solidarity with all those infected with, and affected by, HIV/AIDS globally. Today, 38.4 million people are living with HIV/AIDS, the majority of whom reside in Sub-Saharan Africa. The UNAIDS World AIDS Day campaign this year focuses on inequality and HIV, especially in relation to gender inequalities, inequalities faced by poorer populations, and inequalities between children and adults. We acknowledge the work being done across the world to tackle inequality, extreme poverty, and gender-based violence, and remain committed to promoting the dignity of all persons.
