As part of the Brigid1500 series of events, the ‘Her Story’ Light Show will take place Tuesday, 31st January from 7:30-8:30pm. Maynooth Castle, situated at the gates to St Patrick’s Pontifical University, will be among a number of sites in Kildare to feature illuminations of Brigid on their façades.

Also, in recognition of St. Brigid’s reputation as a champion for peace. This Wednesday, 1st February 2023 at noon, students and staff of SPPU are invited to participate in a global ‘Pause for Peace,’ an initiative involving Into Kildare, the Tourism Board for County Kildare and Irish diaspora around the world. People from New Zealand, New York, Brisbane, Barcelona and elsewhere will stop what they are doing for one minute of silence to express support and solidarity for those who have been affected by war. We will be thinking particularly about Maynooth students and staff who have ties to the many regions of the world currently experiencing conflict.
