SPPU alumnus, Rev Gobezayehu Getachew Yilma has been appointed as Apostolic Vicar of Awasa (Ethiopia) by Pope Francis.

Previously Vicar Delegate of the Apostolic Vicariate of Meki and Executive Director of Caritas Diocesana, Rev Yilma graduated with a PhD in Theology specialising in Catholic Social Teaching at St Patrick’s Pontifical University Maynooth in 2015. We wish him well in his new role.
