Dear Students,
I hope this message finds you well as we embark on a new term filled with opportunities for growth and service.
I am writing to invite you to a unique and rewarding opportunity this Easter. The Irish Pilgrimage Trust is seeking volunteers to join their annual pilgrimage to Lourdes from Sunday, 20th April to Saturday, 26th April 2025. This incredible journey brings young people with special needs, physical disabilities, and social challenges to Lourdes, creating an atmosphere of care, compassion, and community.
Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring the success of this pilgrimage, offering practical assistance and companionship, and creating an environment of inclusion and joy. It is a chance to connect with others, deepen your understanding of service, and be part of something profoundly meaningful.
The fare for third-level students volunteering on the pilgrimage is €550 for 2025. While this represents excellent value for such a life-changing experience, students are also encouraged to assist with fundraising efforts to help cover the costs and support the work of the Trust.
Additionally, students can receive academic credit for their participation by registering for the Mission Outreach module. By completing the week in Lourdes, students can fulfil the requirements of this module. For more information, visit Mission Outreach Module.
If you are interested, you can find more information and at the Irish Pilgrimage Trust website at Irish Pilgrimage Trust.
Applications close soon (24th January 2025), so I encourage you to act promptly if you feel called to this opportunity. To apply, please use the following form, with a motivational letter.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Warm regards,
