The grassland located to the rear of St Patrick's College is allowed to grow naturally into species-rich meadows during the summer months. We work in partnership with a local farmer who cuts the meadows at the end of the growing season, with the harvested grass baled into haylage.

Managing the grassland in this way provides a more sustainable alternative to regular grass cutting. It also creates valuable habitats that support biodiversity, allowing a wide range of plants, insects, and wildlife to thrive throughout the summer.

Congratulations to Stephen Seaman and the Maynooth Campus Grounds Team on such a wonderful respectful use of the natural landscape on campus.
