Foster's research focuses on Bathsheba in 2 Samuel 11-12 and 1 Kings 1-2, examining how different approaches to the text shape the way her character is understood. She is particularly interested in feminist and womanist biblical interpretation, narrative criticism, questions of power and agency, and the ways in which biblical texts continue to influence contemporary understandings of women.

Anne Marie also has a chapter published in the new ESCT book Being Young – Being Catholic – Being European. The chapter is titled “ From Silence to Survival: Bathsheba, Feminist/Womanist Hermeneutics, and the Future of European Christianity.” The book launch is an online event which will be held on October 8th.
