St Patrick's Pontifical University was delighted to participate in the FUCE Summer School, European Humanism in the Making of Peace, hosted by the Catholic University of Lille.

Our President, Dr Michael Shortall, contributed to the programme with an input on the role of universities in fostering peace through dialogue, ethical leadership and the pursuit of the common good. Joining him were SPPU students Kate O'Connor and Oisín Raymond.

The Summer School brought together more than 30 students from across Europe and Lebanon for a week of learning, discussion and friendship centred on the shared task of building a more peaceful future.

Our sincere thanks to the Catholic University of Lille and FUCE for their generous hospitality and for creating such a valuable opportunity for collaboration between Catholic universities.
